Who are we looking for?

The Manager Lineas Academy oversees all operational training programs, staff, and budgets. The manager is responsible for developing the operational learning and development strategy. This includes assessing necessary skills, vetting trainers and implementing training strategies. He or she must ensure that training methods, content, software, systems, and equipment are appropriate.

The Manager Lineas Academy supervises a staff of training and development specialists, such as instructional designers, program developers, and instructors. The Manager directs the daily activities of the coordinators and (Senior) Trainers and evaluates their effectiveness.

The Manager Lineas Academy is responsible for the effectiveness and compliance of the operational competence management process in all countries. Therefore, you take responsibility for the strategic accreditation of LINEAS Academy as an independent training school for train drivers in all countries.

The Manager Lineas Academy defines within LPS (Lineas Production Systems), how trainings and certifications should be conducted in the different production areas of Lineas. You report out about the effectiveness of this process towards the Director of LPS.

What are your duties?

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the training center: follow-up basic and permanent trainings, administration flows and certifications.
  • Conduct regular meetings between your team and the most important stakeholders
  • Determines training needs and requirements for an organization or group by meeting with managers, talking with employees, or administering surveys
  • Oversee training and certification programs
  • Make propositions to improve the operational competence management process, discuss the propositions with all relevant stakeholders and implement by informing all involved.
  • Organize review existing training materials produced internally or by third parties
  • Manage running and new subvention programs with local authorities to optimize the training budget
  • Prepare and present reports on training program KPIs: success rate, filling rate, warm and cold evaluations, use of simulators,…
  • Have a program announcement marketing strategy
  • Work with operations managers to address learning issues, instruction problems, or new educational needs regarding specific employees or departments
  • Keep current on the activities and needs of the railway industry by attending regular meetings, conferences, and seminars
  • Maintain understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods
  • Lead, teach, onboard and evaluate new trainers
  • Track employee success and progress
  • Communicate all the training programs on a timely basis
  • Take the lead in audits from NSA’s to keep compliance

What is your profile?

  • You have a master’s degree (or equivalent by experience)
  • You’re fluent in Dutch and French with a good knowledge of English
  • Experience in railway training and certification is a plus
  • You have experience in people management roles.
  • You are a good communicator and negotiator
