Who are we looking for?

The Coordinator operations ensures the development of a workforce, traindrivers and/or groundpersonnel, that is fit to do the job so that trains and/or wagons depart & ride in a safe & compliant way. The Coordinator Production Development develops the capabilities of the production area in order to become more customer oriented, efficient, operationally excellent

He/she is responsible for the process compliance with prescribed safety and quality standards and rules related to the inspection of trains, shunting of wagons, riding trains in general. He also defines the business requirements to ensure efficient operations.

He/she is owner of operational KPI’s such as labour accidents, behaviour errors and SPAD’s and compliance KPI’s related to training & coaching of our personnel

He/she is responsible for the implementation of improvement projects within the designated production area.

He/she manages a team of teamleaders operators & drivers.


What are your duties?

  • As central point of contact for the Production Area regarding the supply capacity of driver and/or ground Operators (trainings, series, transfer etc….) he/she represents the production area during transversal capacity meetings.
  • In collaboration with ManPower Supply Manager & Local Engineer (need for capacity), he/she sets up capacity forecasts and related up- & downscaling plans.
  • He/she ensures a feedback loop (advises, comes with improvements proposals) to manpower planning, supply chain (LT/ST planning) ,engineering and lineas academy on the quality of planned services, the efficiency of planned services, on possible general improvements, new traffics or re-engineering projects, the certification processes,…;
  • He/she ensures a feedback loop to manpower planning & facilities and assets to improve tools that are put at the disposition of our personnel (car, taxi, hotel, locs, working equipement,…)
  • He/she coordinates & support the process of series discussions (resource planning schedules) together with his teamleaders
  • He/she ensures the input for the making of business requirements for tools & processes to support local operations
  • He/she represents the production areas in transversal functional meetings (safety, reglementation, processes,…) takes care of a bottom-up input in these meetings, evaluates the changes in reglementation or processes in function of the capabilities of the local Production Area/general
  • He/she coaches and develops a team of teamleader operators & drivers & takes care of gradual integration the functions
  • He/she ensures daily anomaly management ; he ensures the daily focus of his teamleaders (& TSO ) in order that each driver puts in his working hours correct, avoids unnecessary taxi-rides, and internal agreements are applied;
  • He/she ensures that teamleaders set up continuous improvement plans in the field of safety. He/she reports with respect to safety actions & KPI’s to the production area manager being accountable for KPI’s related to safety & the quality of work;
  • He/she plays a key role together with the Production Area Manager in the area of communication by setting up frequent infosessions, virtual conferences as part of a formal communication cascade towards drivers & operators
  • He/she makes sure that ideas of operators, drivers and teamleader are being evaluated & put into practise. He/she creates a culture & environment for continuous improvement and manages the integrated improvement plans with regard to safety, productivity and quality of work;
  • He /she ensures a smooth implementation of changes in the field of safety, quality of work & productivity using a standardized methodology (ADKAR)
  • He/she makes sure that all objectives linked to KPIs as to re-certification, permanent training, development of people are reached;
  • He/she defines the content of the yearly permanent trainings together with Lineas Academy. He/she ensures that the workload in number of trainings of each teamleader is equally divided in his team.
  • He/she takes the lead in building up the local knowledge and aligns with Lineas Academy so that both tracks (permanent, basic development & local development) are being reinforced;
  • He/she assists in the certification of teamleaders as trainers being deployed at Lineas Academy.

What is your profile?

  • Bachelor or 5 years of experience in railway.
  • Experience in specific driver positions and or SGO is an added value.
  • Showed a clear and perfect safety attitude in the past
  • Is able to communicate in NL, or FR in an efficient and smooth way. Can express him/herself in English
  • Spots problems pro-actively and acts accordingly, preventing the problem to become bigger
  • Is passionate about bringing people to the next level. Is passionate about creating the right working conditions for our people. Knows what it takes to drive change
  • Takes decisions, but always with a clear cost-impact in mind

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Skype)
  • Knowledge of CIS/IRON is a plus
