Who are we looking for?

The Business Development Manager France is responsible for the creation and implementation of the commercial plan in France. The objective of this role is to grow the business segment in terms of revenues and profitability by translating the market needs and opportunities/threats into a concrete action plan for all existing products and new products. The goal is to get to a relevant increase of revenues by 2025 by acquiring new customers & new segments and by focusing on modal shift & creating multi-modal platform initiatives. In order to get to these objectives, the creation of a plan for France and per market segment is a must. Besides the acquisition of new customer segments & new partnership relations, the integration of new commercial relations into the new sales structure is a requirement. A well implemented French stakeholder management (e.g. ports, terminals, chambres de commerce, POM, etc.) is a final enabler for success.

What are your duties?

  • Commercial Strategy
    • Develop a strategy to grow all business segments
    • Co-create with Network Management the network of the future
    • Initiate modal shift solutions
    • Create a multi-modal approach to acquire extra revenues
    • Create new products (or features) based on the needs of the market
  • Customer relations
    • Open new customer relations in order to grow the business
    • Set-up strategic partnerships with customers to facilitate the growth plan
    • Guide the account management in the acquisition of new business in tenders and RFQ
    • Negotiate larger deals (both renewals as new business opportunities)
  • Project and process management
    • Create action plans to implement the strategy
    • Follow-up on actions in the organization that will install a new commercial strategy
    • Create an implementation plan for a specific campaign or action to develop the business
    • Redefine current processes in order to attract more volumes

What is your profile?

  • Master degree or compensated by experience
  • Bilingual English / French
  • Prior experience in Customer Service, Sales, Operations or Network roles desirable (360 degree view)
  • Experienced sales leader in B2B, preferably in logistics
  • Extensive know-how about markets, market segments, customer
  • Extensive commercial knowledge of the Dutch Logistic Market
  • “Builder” – ability to start small but impactful and then scale up
  • Strongly result oriented mindset
  • International background
  • Design thinking, creative
  • Project Management experience
