Who are we looking for?

Someone to execute multiple strategic transversal improvement projects from start to finish

Someone to use his experience, creativity, perseverance and network to (proactively) identify and mitigate blocking points, as well as leveraging the project output.

Someone to inspire and coach his team members and set the example to execute each project in a structured way and to reach the project goals, within a pre-defined timing, scope and budget, utilizing advanced (and different) Project Management, Lean & Six Sigma techniques.

Someone to optimize the techniques and toolkit used by IT and spread this approach and culture throughout the company (eg. via trainings, workshops, lectures, notes, coaching and mentoring of (Junior) (Project/Operational Excellence) Managers, etc.).

Someone to support the IT Delivery Manager in managing the project portfolio, by taking over certain specific tasks (eg. fit of the project planning into the overall portfolio, indicate interdependencies, managing project pipeline, define priorities, prepare reportings, etc.)

Someone to launch new projects, and define their place within the portfolio, proposing them to the IT Delivery Manager and cPMO

What are your duties?

  • Define and quantify the problem(s) that the project aims to solve. Summarize all necessary info in a project charter, determine the project scope and adapt the scope during the project in order to maintain the technical feasibility, strategic fit and people buy in
  • Define the planning and project deliverables for the project (using MS Project). Proactively identify risks that may impact project planning, scope or budget. Create and when necessary, execute mitigation plans. Adjust planning according to external/internal evolutions/happenings.
  • Identify key stakeholders, and maintain relationship with stakeholders and other contributors to the project, actively listen, understand and proactively communicate to stakeholders/project members
  • Report project progression to project sponsor, Steerco, Program manager and IT Delivery Manager extensive use of visual aid (eg. PowerPoint). Perform steerco meetings to take project decisions.
  • Set-up the necessary KPI dashboards (leading and lagging) and apply visual management techniques to track progress and corporate contribution. Measure project performance and communicate about it. Escalate, share and take action to tackle any success thread
  • Assess quantity and type of required human resources. Create the project team and make clear agreements with line managers on team member utilization. Attribute the tasks to the project members according to their capacity & capabilities. Provide coaching. Set objectives, manage performances and ensure professional development of project team members. Document & archive achievements for future similar projects
  • Ensure that the project team will meet the task/activity deadlines. Stay in touch with project team members’ line manager and ensure proper closing. Resolve conflict involving project team or stakeholders
  • Establish the budget for the whole project (validation by Project Sponsor, Program Manager, IT Delivery Manager and Business Controlling). Responsible for reaching project(s) objective(s) within budget. Follow the work of his/her project team closely in order to ensure the respect of the budget
  • Create the right environment to facilitate and implement the change. Identify a pilot to test and evaluate several solutions
  • Know and apply different advanced project management approaches and best practices based on type of project and situation. Take actions to leverage the project outcome. Attend advanced project & program management trainings, leadership training and other advanced topics. Improve project management methodologies and tools.
  • Active knowledge of the IT approval and development process, as well as IT-related project management techniques and approaches.
  • Use basic and advanced Lean & Six Sigma techniques to perform root cause analysis and identify optimizations
  • (identify waste, identify and remove/reduce/automate non-value added activities, use observation techniques, do 5 Why analysis, draw fishbone diagrams, use pareto & effort/impact diagrams, perform process mappings, calculate correlation coefficients, do hypothesis testing,…)
  • Perform advanced data analytics & statistical tests. Do data collection checks. Work together with Operational Data Specialist and Business Intelligence to capture required data if necessary
  • Define business cases in order to support GO/NO GO decisions. Make the distinction between OPEX & CAPEX. Work together with Business Controlling to validate these business cases.

What is your profile?

  • You have a master degree or equivalent experience and at least 5 years experience in Project Management
  • You are PMI certified
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English and you can communicate in French
  • IT Knowledge: MS Office & MS Project - Visio and/or BPMN - Confluence & Jira - Data analytics tools (eg. Tableau, Qlikview) - Statistical tools (eg. Minitab, SPSS) - IT Approval & development process
  • You master Prince 2 or PMI or PMBOK methodology - Scrum & Agile (preferably) - ITIL 4 (preferably) and have great communication skills
