Who are we looking for?

As Senior Compensation & Benefits Expert, you develop, implement and manage the compensation & benefits strategy of the organisation (e.g. both BE and international subsidiaries) in collaboration with the Head of Center of Excellence, in order to have a modern and cost-effective Compensation & Benefits policy aligned with market-practice, contributing to the overall HR Strategy and with the aim of becoming an employer of choice within the sector (attracting, retaining & motivating our talents).

What are your responsibilities?

  • Further develop, implement and maintain a Compensation & Benefits policy in line with the overall HR Strategy, looking at cost-efficiencies, new practices in the market and internal alignment in all entities
  • Coordinate the Compensation & Benefits processes in an integrated end-to-end way and manage projects within the Compensation & Benefits team in order to provide a high-quality service to the organisation in an efficient manner
    • Be responsible for the FTE budget process as part of the overall budget process, led by the finance department. Monitoring the evolution of the actual FTE cost versus budget and look for ways to optimize
    • Responsible for yearly compensation processes such as salary review, bonus process, variable pay process, etc.
    • Responsible for employee benefits offering, ensuring proper management of employee insurances/risks in collaboration with our broker
    • Be the end-responsible for policies and practices linked to international mobility, international deployment and legal compliance related to international deployment
    • Conduct frequent benchmark exercises to ensure market-competitiveness
    • Define an overarching C&B framework for the total company (European level), giving guidance to the different countries and allowing them to answer the needs of the local market and business
  • Ensure compliance with the policies and guidelines within his/her team and other HR departments (e.g. HRBPs, payroll colleagues) and set-up (audit) processes to guarantee optimal compliance
  • Acting as an internal specialist in Compensation & Benefits and be SPOC on Compensation & Benefits related matters
  • Initiate projects linked to Compensation & Benefits in collaboration with a team of internal and external people in order to optimize our HR offering
  • Team-up with the other HR Departments (Talent, Payroll, HR Services, Industrial Relations, …) in order to participate in (cross-border) (HR) projects and continuously evaluate and improve our HR Service Offering
  • Continuously monitoring the most recent developments and trends within his / her specific field of expertise in order to ensure compliance with legal changes in all entities and to offer our employees a modern Comp&Ben offering (Flexible benefits, etc.)
  • Support the labour relations specialist on C&B related manners and participate in social dialogue for C&B topics in order to maintain a positive social climate, to enable realisation of the C&B strategy
  • Coaching of junior C&B expert in order to work as a well-functioning team with complementary expertise

What is your profile?

  • Typically 5 to 10 years relevant experience – preferably legal or fiscal background
  • Experience with Compensation & Benefits within an international company
  • Solid knowledge of Belgian social legislation
  • Good strategic and conceptual thinking; good business acumen
  • Experience with cross-border employment and impats (taxation and social coverage in NL,DE, FR)
  • Fiscal acumen
  • Knowledge in modern Compensation & Benefits practices
  • Experience with leading projects
  • Project management skills
  • Possess influencing skills.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on
  • Pro-active, stress-resilient, result-oriented, flexible teammember
  • Language knowledge: NL or FR + EN
  • Master degree
