We are a market leader in biogas production from industrial wastewater treatment and our municipal wastewater treatment plants are amongst the largest on the African continent. We provide safe drinking water in countries with water shortage. Our air competence center is located in France and counts more than 500 references in cleaning off-gas en flue gases. Our thermal treatment solutions are state-of-the-art designs capable of treating large volumes of municipal, industrial and medical and waste and waste. We are a pioneer in the production of green energy from organic waste, our biomass-to-energy plant in Ieper is our R&D center and a reference in biogas production.

Our services range from design and build to the operation and maintenance of treatment plants. The Waterleau global office is located in Wespelaar (Haacht), but our network of local offices is spread around the world. Our track record counts more than 5000 references in 85 countries.

Finance & Reporting Manager

Position Summary

As a Finance & Reporting Manager you will take the responsibility for and carry out the group reporting and supervise the accounting for the Belgian entities in order to contribute to an appropriate financial policy. You will manage the Finance & Accounting team and report to the group CFO.


Job Responsibilities

  • You will coordinate international tax questions, support executives on tax and VAT declaration.
  • You will execute prepayment of taxes
  • You will be responsible for R&D management (tax purpose)
  • You will supervise the Accounting activities with regards to cash, transfer pricing, interco optimisation, monthly closing meetings and booking of salary preparations
  • You will follow-up the ERP and BI tool
  • You will report about business lines, opex cost analysis, reconciliation Added value, D&B report single projects, project analysis and budget/forecast exercises
  • You will also follow-up on timesheet registration and capacity planning


Required Skills and Experience

  • Master degree in Finance / Economics is required, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in a project environment is a plus
  • Strong leadership
  • Very good knowledge of VAT and taxes
  • Fluent in Dutch, English and French
  • MS Office and Excel have no secrets for you, good experience with ERP (SAP + Exact is a plus)
  • Hands-on mentality and eager to take initiative
  • Team player, accurate and good communication skills
  • Manages time effectively, meets deadlines without fault and strives to continuously improve business processes and contribute to the company’s overall success
  • Flexible and used to working in a fast changing international environment
  • Financial acumen in the broadest sense (accounting, statutory reporting, project controlling, local corporate tax,…) with strong liaison with project managers
