Safety Officer

Purpose of the Position:

Co-creates and supports a safety culture within the company.

Guarantees that all safety matters are in compliance with the law and the applicable Sanofi standards.


Working Relationships:

  • Internal Contacts: all employees; team members of the lab committee; line directors; HR department; Sanofi HSE colleagues.
  • External Contacts; Bio safety coordinator; Environmental coordinator; governmental institutions

(FODWASO) and other professional organizations (BBP, BSOH); IDEWE and company doctor


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development a Dynamic Risk Management System to improve the safety on the work floor

- Executes safety audits to be in compliance with the law and applicable Sanofi Standards.

- Continuously follows up safety legislation.

- Supports the preparation of and participates in the monthly lab committee.

- Writes reports and procedures, gives advises to management and employees on how to take action to be in conformity with the law at the best possible manner, implements those actions, follows up and adjusts when necessary.

  • Responsible for risk assessments
  • Writes safety reports of (new) equipment
  • Assists in general safety related administration

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Expected experience: some experience in a related role is considered as a plus
