Marketing Communications and Community Intern

Practical Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Improve EVPA’s member onboarding processes through digitalisation of EVPA’s application forms, and perform research on the existing platforms for digital management of online member community
• Responsible for preparation of EVPA newsletter content, collected from colleagues
• Support the team with website content updates, online account creation and lead generation from website to CRM (Salesforce)
• Lead annual membership satisfaction survey, along with statistical analysis of the data results
• Recruit and manage a group of student volunteers at our Annual Conference in The Hague
• Some support to the team administratively in the set-up of large and medium-sized events e.g. event agendas, delegates lists, venue host liaising/logistics, booking travel and accommodation, support reporting etc.
• Additional tasks may be added depending on the individual’s background and area of study and current needs/priorities
Skills and Performance Competencies
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills and at least one other language of the EU
• You are a quick and responsive learner, and a wizard at prioritising a number of competing tasks and responsibilities
• Proficient with using content management systems (CMS), and basic knowledge of HTML
• Experience with email marketing solutions such as MailChimp
• Experience in database management (e.g. Salesforce) and User Interface design is an asset, and/or experience in accurate data entry for CRMs
• MS Office proficiency (particularly with Excel and Word)
• Ability to work in a structured and precise manner
• Ability to do quantitative analysis and present data in a clear, logical way
• Ability to work together with team members and also independently
• A passion for venture philanthropy and social venture financing or social entrepreneurship is a plus
• Post-secondary degree in digital marketing communications, interactive design or a related discipline; A plus if you have some experience in SEO, online lead generation, Google Analytics etc.


Terms and Conditions
• Based in Brussels;
• Start date: As soon as possible
• 5 days per week; 6 months (minimum) with the possibility of extension based on performance
• Playing a part in the establishment of the exciting, emerging social finance industry
• You believe that working together achieves better results and you are energised by entrepreneurial working environments
• In depth training on CRM (Salesforce)

About EVPA

Established in 2004 and based in Brussels, the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) is a non-profit, membership association gathering organisations based in Europe and which are interested in or practicing Venture Philanthropy and Social Investment (VP/SI). These include venture philanthropy funds, social investors, grant-making foundations, impact investing funds, private equity firms and professional service firms, philanthropy advisors, banks or business schools. EVPA currently gathers over 280 members from 30 countries, mainly based in Europe.

EVPA defines VP/SI as an approach to build stronger social enterprises by providing them with both financial and non-financial support (i.e. capacity building) at all stages of their development in order to increase their societal impact.

Envisioning “a world where philanthropy and investment combine to drive societal impact”, EVPA’s mission is “to enable Venture Philanthropists and Social Investors to maximise societal impact through increased resources, collaboration and expertise”.
