(Senior) Research Associate, Selection team

We are looking for a motivated senior research associate to join the team responsible for the isolation and screening of Nanobodies® from variant libraries using phage and yeast surface display technologies.



  • Generation of Nanobody libraries and selection of Nanobody candidates via phage and yeast surface display
  • Application of molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA preparation, PCR, analytical and preparative DNA restriction, cloning and transformation of bacteria and yeast (electroporation)
  • Screening for target-specific Nanobodies via ELISA- and FACS-based methods
  • Working with mammalian cell lines
  • Performing data analysis and interpretation; assisting in experimental design
  • Preparation of written reports of experimental results in English
  • Supporting project teams with in-depth Nanobody selection strategy knowledge
  • As an active member of several project teams, you will be required to work effectively in a matrix structure and communicate results at team and project meetings



  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Degree of Professional Bachelor in Laboratory Technology or Biotechnology (Laboratory Technician A1), Bachelor or Master in Industrial Sciences (Industrial Engineer), Biochemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques as well as in handling and analysis of recombinant proteins
  • Prior experience with Display technologies (phage, yeast, ribosomal, etc.) is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to quality, accuracy and detail
  • Team player, sense of initiative, enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills are essential – fluency in English (spoken and written) is expected
