Director Medical Affairs

EUMEDICA SA is an international reference actor in the pharmaceutical sector. We offer to pharmaceutical companies a wide range of custom-made services in various domains such as regulatory affairs, distribution and promotion of pharmaceutical products as well as tailored logistics services.
Based in Manage, we are looking for talented and dynamic profiles to complete our teams and accompany us in our development.


The Director Medical affairs manages and participates to all activities within the scope of the Medial Affairs department. The function combines both managerial and operational tasks and the scope is international (BE, FR, DE, UK). She/he reports directly to the Managing Director.

The responsibilities are:

• Department Management
  o Manage the Medical Affairs team (7 members) including assistant, MSLs, medical experts and EU-QPPV
  o Develop the Medical Plan and ensure objectives and activities are aligned with the company’s strategy and the other departments
  o Assess and develop analytical metrics (KPI) to support the organization in measuring the effectiveness of Medical affairs initiatives
  o Manage the budget of the department

• Scientific/Medical expertise in therapeutic areas of EUMEDICA’s products
  o Maintain a high level of knowledge in therapeutic areas of EUMEDICA’s products (clinical microbiology, vascular surgery) by monitoring the scientific literature
  o Participate to scientific congresses in the therapeutic areas of EUMEDICA’s products
  o Provide Scientific and Medical supports to internal and external stakeholders
  o Develop training modules for real and web-trainings

• Medical Affairs
  o Cultivate and maintain relationships with academic researchers and thought leaders, by regular interactions and execution of scientific projects (e.g. medical education events, investigator meetings, advisory boards) as well as attending conferences and talks
  o Identify opportunities for clinical research that are consistent with company objectives
  o Follow-up on investigator-driven studies
  o Perform statistical analysis on data from internal or external studies
  o Write of abstract, posters and full articles

• Marketing in collaboration with the sales team
  o Connect and collaborate with sales teams, to proactively identify opportunities and needs that can be addressed via communication of scientific and medical information
  o Develop promotional materials
  o Develop Brand books and brand plans
  o Manage Medico-Marketing Meetings

• Compliance
  o Manage and oversee the compliance processes, in collaboration with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure the company complies with all advertising related regulatory requirements

• Pharmacovigilance
  o Manage and oversee the activities of the PV department (global and local duties)

The Director of Medical Affairs is regularly invited at the Executive Committee which, in consultation with the Managing Director, will assure alignment between the company’s strategy and the operational objectives of the departments.


Your profile:

• MD, PharmD or PhD in life-sciences (experience in antimicrobial chemotherapy, vascular surgery is a plus). A MBA is a plus
• At least 5-10 years of experience in a similar position
• Ready to travel (BE, FR, DE, UK)
• Understanding of hospital, academic and pharma culture
• Understanding of the hospital sector and reimbursement systems
• Good organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. You are able to plan your activities and the ones of the department
• Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, and advanced presentation skills
• You are able to understand, interpret, discuss and present complex scientific data. Your ability to analyze and synthesize allows you to transpose a scientific message to non-scientific people
• Self-motivated and flexible, able to start and work independently within your area of responsibilities
• Decision-making, proactive problem-solving and accountability
• You are at ease with IT tools (office suite, endnote, …)
• You are fluent in French, Dutch and English. German is a plus.
