Simac - System engineer Microsoft IT-Workplace

This job’s main focus is on the technical end to end ownership of our O365 cloud based productivity services. The jobholder is responsible to maintain the IT-environment stable, support the product evolution and resolve L3 incidents and problem cases, together with our internal IT teams, - business unit partners and external suppliers. This function includes an O365 tenant admin role, limited to the relevant service. The position includes operational and development activities.

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years of Desktop Engineering experience, with focus on Office 2016 / O365, OneDrive, standard Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • At least 3 years of experience in PowerShell, and VBS scripting
  • At last 3 years of work experience in global IT infrastructure environments with more than 20’000 desktops
  • Strong knowledge on Desktop Apps and AD (Security Groups, GPOs, etc.)
  • Familiar with ITSM tools, ideally ServiceNow

Key Activities & Responsibilities

  • Responsible to test and review MSFT updates/releases on Office and OS, impacting our services.
  • Debug and fix incidents and problems, specific to our environment, escalated by Level 2 support teams (incident ticket based).
  • Desktop software testing on physical and virtual test-machines and document results for our team and IT peers.
  • Problem case resolution, including MSFT premier support case management.
  • Work on service upgrade and new feature deployment-plans, take technical responsibility for our domain (e.g. introduction of Azure Information Protection v2).
  • Create Knowledge Article content, as technical Subject Matter Expert, for our support teams and end-user community
  • Deliver scripts for SCCM software package creation and manage our team’s desktop software packages.
