To support our ICT department we are looking for a “Senior JAVA Developer”. As Senior JAVA Developer you are an expert in our software within the Airport ICT department.

The Airport ICT department comprises all IT services needed to run the airport, specifically all aircraft-related services. More specifically, the position concerns Passenger Services.

As Senior JAVA Developer, you are an expert in our software.

Does this challenge appeal to you?

  • Construction and maintenance of software
    • You develop software systems that meet the business requirements (translated by the Business Analysts) and in accordance with the architecture.
    • You maintain existing systems (bug fixing) and guarantee a continuous improvement of the applications and support to the business (you implement changes and solve problems).
    • You adapt existing systems to changing environments (e.g. new customers, products, securities).
    • You consult with the customers around strategic (software-based) choices within their business.
  • Testing of built software and preparation of the software roll-out.
    • You carry out various types of tests (Unit, Interface, Integration, Performance, User, Installation, on-site/production check) in preparation of the effective commissioning and you are responsible for the operation in accordance with specifications.
    • You prepare the software roll-out (test coding and write -after acceptance by the end consumer- scripts for operational installation).
  • Focus on the reusability of software components or subsystems.
    • You monitor the reusability of components or subsystems and common components, via collections of reusable codes.
  • Writing and maintaining of documentation.
    • You draw up user and system manuals and maintain them.
    • You maintain the QMS document (quality standard – base for procedures and templates).
  • Presentation of possible adjustments to improve the stability, efficiency and utility of the systems or to suppress the costs.
    • You give advice about improvements of the service to the specific business.
    • You help to reduce software problems and support costs.
  • Support of SLAs (Service level Agreements)
    • You solve operational/software-based problems/incidents on (problem solving/trouble shooting) through the quick and efficient identification of (possible) dysfunctions on the level of the delivered software.
    • You offer support to end-users within the context of the SLAs.
  • Updating of own knowledge in the field of development techniques (technical) and business.
    • You regularly follow specific training courses.
    • You attend seminars and you keep up in your field.
    • You share your knowledge with other parties involved.

Are these your qualities and strengths?

  • Level of knowledge Bachelor or equivalent through experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Java Developer
  • In-depth knowledge of various applications/systems, software and programming languages. You have experience with Bamboo, Jira, GIT, HTML5, UI Design, Unit Tests, Databases such as Sybase and SQL, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of organisation and communication techniques.
  • User knowledge of current software.
  • In addition to Dutch, spoken and written knowledge of French and English.
  • Operational after 3 months
