Windows Systems Engineer (Junior Profile)

Tasks:


The Windows Systems Engineer is a skilled collaborator with a technical background who assists the Systems Consultants in their project implementation tasks, by :

  • Analyzing and controlling design documents
  • Implementing technical designs
  • Documenting the technical implementations
  • Installs, configure and maintain ICT-systems according to the provided guidelines
  • Performs basic support tasks on servers
  • Performs testing tasks
  • Performs quality verification tasks
  • Helps the Support Engineers in their daily support tasks

Mandatory:

  • At least one year of experience in supporting Windows client operating systems
  • Very good knowledge of Windows client operating systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7)
  • Good knowledge of Client hardware infrastructure (desktops and laptops)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 and/or Microsoft Office 2007.
  • Good documenting skills (in English language)
  • Good overall knowledge of the IT world
  • Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (Windows Server 2003 [R2] and/or Windows Server 2008 [R2])
  • Basic knowledge of Server hardware infrastructure (HP / Dell / Lenovo)
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory services and DDNS services

Preferred:

  • Scripting skills (VBS, ASP, PowerShell, Perl)
  • Knowledge of Windows-based applications
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management tools (HP OpenView ServiceCenter, Vantive, Symantec Altiris HelpDesk solution, IBM Retain, etc)
  • Knowledge of IT Asset Management tools (HP OpenView AssetCenter, Symantec Altiris Asset Management Suite, etc)
  • Knowledge of OpenOffice 3 productivity suite
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization techniques
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft ISA Server
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft IIS Server
  • Basic Knowledge of server based computing infrastructure (Terminal Server / Citrix)
  • Basic knowledge of SystemCentre Operations Manager (SCOM)
