Tasks:

The Windows Systems Architect is a highly skilled consultant with a very good technical background who

• Assists technical architects in the preparation of the project deliverables by :
• Gathering information about configuration of existing operating systems
• Gathering information about existing Windows applications
• Providing expertise about the most recent Windows-based products
• Explaining the new possibilities and limitations of these Windows products
• Assists Project Managers in their evaluation of :
• Pricing of Windows-based solutions
• Timing requirements for the different tasks
• Designs implementations of Windows-based ICT-systems
• Enforces the usage of standards within operating systems implementation

Mandatory:

• At least eight years experience in systems engineering / systems consultancy (on both Windows clients and Windows servers platforms)
• Excellent knowledge of Windows client operating systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7)
• Excellent knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (Windows Server 2003 [R2] and Windows Server 2008 [R2])
• Very good knowledge of Active Directory services and DDNS services
• Very good knowledge of Client hardware infrastructure (desktops and laptops)
• Very good knowledge of Server hardware infrastructure (HP / Dell / Lenovo)
• Very good knowledge of VmWare and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization products
• Very good overall knowledge of the IT world
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 and/or Microsoft Office 2007.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
• At least basic knowledge of all preferred skills listed below

Preferred:

• Knowledge of architectural models (Zachman, TOGAF, Archimede, etc)
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Knowledge of non Windows-based systems (mainframe, Unix/Linux, AS/400, etc)
• Knowledge of Microsoft ISA Server
• Knowledge of Microsoft IIS Server / Apache (for Windows)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2007 and Microsoft Exchange 2010 and related services (fax, blackberry, archiving, spam/virus filters, etc)
• Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Services
• Knowledge of Microsoft AppV (Softgrid)
• Knowledge of OpenOffice 3 productivity suite
• Knowledge of Packaging and/or Software Distribution software (SystemCentre Configuration Manager or SMS, Symantec Altiris Total Management Suite, etc)
• Knowledge of server based computing infrastructure (Terminal Server / Citrix)
• Knowledge of monitoring solutions like SystemCentre Operations Manager (SCOM)
• Knowledge of Microsoft CRM
•  Knowledge of security infrastructure (VPN, DMZ, etc)
• Knowledge of storage and backup solutions (software and hardware aspects)
• Scripting skills (VBS, ASP, PowerShell, Perl)
